ITBA Foal Sale Preparation Course

Following last year’s very successful event, ITBA will once again host its Foal Sales Preparation Workshop at the ITBA HQ and the Irish National Stud.

The morning session at ITBA HQ consists of industry professionals talking about their area of expertise and will include a Q&A session. Morning session panellists as follows;

Lorraine Fradl of Connolly’s RED MLLS, Jacqueline Norris of Jockey Hall Stud,

Dr Mariann Klay MRCVS of Swordlestown Little Stud, Liam O’Donovan, Master Farrier.

During the morning session panellists will cover the following topics; the importance of a good preparation programme to ensure stock reach their full potential in time for the foal sales as well as the importance of showing foals during the sales, of correct farriery in young stock, veterinary matters to be consider for selling foals at public auction, the benefits of a good feeding programme and breeding for current market demands.

The afternoon session takes place at the Irish National Stud. Cathal Beale, CEO will host a classroom talk upon arrival, followed by members of the Irish National Stud Team showing a number of foals. During this session attendees will receive a talk about their confirmation. Transportation to and from the Irish National Stud and lunch will be provided in the cost.
