ITBA excited to launch 2023 Summer Education Series

ITBA is delighted to launch the 2023 Summer Education Series which will take place at ITBA HQ, Kill, Co. Kildare during the month of June. This series will include a comprehensive group of seminars focused on stud farm and bloodstock administration, and building your bloodstock business. We have collaborated with Aoife Hanratty’s PA Solutions and business growth advisors, Gateway Consultants to help deliver this comprehensive content.

This is a fantastic opportunity for employers and employees to develop their skills and increase their knowledge around bloodstock administration and developing your business.

2023 Summer Series Schedule

Tuesday 6th June 2023, 2-4.30pm, ITBA HQ

Stud Farm Administration: This afternoon module will be given by PA Solutions and will cover the following topics around stud farm administration and marketing: mare documentation, record keeping, managing vaccination schedules, sales entries, logistics and requirements, breeding requirements, and digital marketing for your farm.

Wednesday 7th June 2023, 2-4.30pm, ITBA HQ

Bloodstock Industry Businesses: This afternoon module will see presentations from industry bloodstock businesses including Weatherbys, HRI, Goffs, Tattersalls Ireland, Equisoft and Equine Medirecords. Attendees will then have the opportunity to speak with these organisations and ask one-to-one questions related to their business.

Thursday 8th June 2023, 1:30pm-6:30pm, ITBA HQ

Health and Safety Training: This afternoon module will focus on several aspects of statutory employee health and safety training, broken down into three areas that focus on Fire Safety Training, followed by Chemical Safety Training and then Manual Handling Training. It is a statutory requirement that all employees are required to have training in these areas to meet insurance requirements.

The safety training courses will be fully certified. Attendees can participate in single or multiple modules. The subsidised cost of each Health and Safety module is €20 per ITBA member and €30 per non-member.

1:30 – 3pm: Fire Safety Training

3:15 – 4:45pm: Chemical Safety Training

5 – 6:30pm: Manual Handling Training

Wednesday 21st June 2023, 2-5pm, ITBA HQ

Building your Bloodstock Business:This afternoon module will be delivered by Gateway Consultants and will focus on developing established bloodstock businesses. Gateway Consultants are Business Growth Advisors for Enterprise Ireland and have a strong record in driving the commercial growth of businesses in industry.

This programme is suitable to individuals who operate a business within the equine industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for bloodstock business owners to gain increased understanding of the key taxation opportunities and challenges for bloodstock businesses, and to prepare for succession of your business.

The subsidised cost for the ‘Building your Bloodstock Business’ module is €20 per ITBA member, or €30 per non-member.
