Cheltenham Festival 2018 Irish Bred Winners

Our Cheltenham Winners…

ITBA would like to congratulate all the Irish breeders who bred winners at this years Cheltenham Festival.

Summerville Boy (IRE)

Bred by Paul Rothwell in Lacken Stud, Co. Wexford. The son of Sandmason won his bumper in Kilarney and was later sold.

Rathvinden (IRE)

Bred by Killian Traynor, Rathvinden started his career by winning a Downpatrick bumper.

Minster Whitaker (IRE)

Bred by Patrick F Callinan. Minster Whitakers’ dam has also produced smart winners such as Broadway Buffalo and Christdalo.

Samcro (IRE)

Bred by Douglas Taylor. Samcro was a winner of a point to point in Monksgrange two years ago and later bought by Gigginstown House Stud.

Altior (IRE)

Bred by Paddy Behan in Co. Laois. Altior is out of a blacktype producing dam and is unbeaten over 13 starts over jumps.

Tiger Roll (IRE)

Bred by Gerry O’ Brien, Tiger Roll sold as a foal and again as a three year old. He is also the winner of a Market Rasen Juvenile hurdle and half-brother to group 2 winner Ahzeemah.

Veneer of Charm (IRE)

Bred by Patrick Burns in Newlands House Stud and was sold as a yearling. He was the winner of a 10 furlong Navan handicap and a full brother to Devonshire, a Group 2 winner and the listed winner Hurryupharriet.

Relegate (IRE)

Bred by Bobby Mc Carthy at The Beeches where his sire Flemensfirth stands. Out of the dam Last Of The Bunch who produced a line of blacktypes.

Shattered Love (IRE)

Bred by Limetree Stud, Shattered Love is a dual Grade 1 winner over fences. She is out of a three time producing blacktype mare. Before entering Elliotts yard she was a winner of a Lemonfield Point.

The Storyteller(IRE)

Breeders Rowena Cotton and Stephen Lanigan – O’Keeffe sold the gelding as a three year old. By the great Shantou the gelding he is also a brother to three time winner Boherna Lady.

Missed Approach (IRE)

Bred by John Tyan he was sold as a foal. He went on to win a point to point in Dawstown in the colours of Joe and Josh Ryan.

Kilbricken Storm (IRE)

Bred by Statia O’ Keeffe, Kilbricken Storm won a point to point in Curraheen for her son Richard. Richard also produced Finian’s Oscar.

Native River (IRE)

Bred by Fred Mackey and sold as a foal, Native River is the second Grade 1 winner for his dam Native Mo.

Blow By Blow (IRE)

Bred by Eleanor Hadden and sold as a foal he went on to win the Grade 1 Punchestown Champion Bumper for Willie Mullins.
