ITBA hosts its annual Autumn/Winter Veterinary Seminar on Tuesday 7th November at 7pm. This will be available for both in-person attendance at ITBA HQ, Kill and online viewers. This year’s topic is on ‘Preparing you mare for the breeding season’ and will look at the different practices and technologies available to breeders and veterinary professionals.

Speakers include Dr Barbara Murphy, Head of Equine Science at UCD and founder of the Equilume Light Mask. Barbara will talk about the importance of light for breeding stock, including barren and pregnant mares, foals and stallions. Dr Bena Hickey, associate at Anglesey Lodge Equine Hospital will talk about getting mares cycling and in foal, and working with barren, tricky and older mares ahead of the 2024 season. The Irish Equine Centre will also be present on the night to talk through their offers available, including their Stud Hygiene Package.

The course is approved for 2 CVE credits with the Veterinary Council of Ireland. Registration is required, please email Hannah at hmarks@itba.ie or call ITBA on 045 877 543.
