ITBA Educational Programme 2021 - SUMMER SERIES Launches

The Summer Series element of ITBA Educational Programme 2021 gets underway at the start of June with a number of virtual workshops in collaboration with Equi Ed, Wexford. Following the successful roll out and take of these workshops last summer, the decision was made to incorporate them into this year’ s programme. The workshops, which are equivalent to Level 4 accreditation will run from 10am- 1pm. Once again, all fees have been waived. This element of our Summer Series is kindly co-funded by the Department of Agriculture under its 2021 Equine Technical Support Scheme. As space is limited, early booking is essential. For additional information or to register for any of these virtual workshops email Kerry Ryan at

All of these virtual workshops will be delivered by Therese Murphy, who founded Equi-Ed in 2019 to deliver bespoke equine massage and therapy related training in Ireland. Equi-Ed has produced a range of innovative and flexible equine educational study programmes, which are underpinned by science and experience of working with a wide range of thoroughbreds of all disciplines on a local, national and international platform. Therese has a wealth of experience in the industry and for over a decade has been working with horses in a massage therapy capacity. Her speciality is equine rehabilitation and injury analysis.

Plans are in place for a breeders’ trip to Equi Ed, located outside Enniscorthy in Co Wexford over the summer for a tour of the facility and an outdoor demonstration. We are currently working on the July element of our Summer Series.

ITBA will host a Climate Action Webinar towards the end of June to look at ways how the Irish thoroughbred breeding industry can address the twin challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. More details in terms of date and panel of speakers to follow in due course.”
