ITBA EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME 2021 - SUMMER SERIES - ITBA EMBRACES FARM SAFETY WEEK

Taking its lead from Ireland’s National Farm Safety Week and as part of its ITBA Educational Programme 2021 - Summer Series, the association is hosting “ITBA Embraces Farm Safety" Week from Tuesday 27th July to Friday 30th July 2021. This series of virtual workshops will reiterate the importance of health and safety on stud farms for the betterment of both staff and thoroughbreds. Once again, all fees have been waived. Tuesday 27th July: Employment Law for Agriculture Workshop 10:AM - 12:PM. Delivered by Vincent Turley, Human Resource Services

Wednesday 28th July: Stud Farm Safety is no Accident Workshop 10:AM - 12: PM. Delivered by Dr John McNamara, Teagasc H&S Specialist

Thursday 29th July: General Equine Safety Workshop 10:AM - 12:30PM.. Delivered by Carraig Safety Consultants

Thursday 29th July: First Aid Precautions Post Covid Workshop 2:PM - 4:30PM. Delivered by Carraig Safety Consultants

Friday 30th July: Safety Statement Workshop 10:AM - 3.30PM. Delivered by Carraig Safety Consultants

Commenting, Kerry Ryan said” ITBA fully embraces farm safety and is continually encouraging breeders and their members of staff to also embrace farm safety. The purpose of this educational initiative is to further raise awareness amongst breeders of the dangers, and in many cases the hidden dangers on stud farms. The health and safety of all those working on stud farms is paramount. By farming smartly, breeders and all those working in the thoroughbred industry can farm safely”
