ITBA EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME 2022 – MEMBERS LAUNCH @20.05.22
Following a very successful Ask the Expert Series, ITBA rolls out the next element of its 2022 Educational Programme, namely its Summer Series. These series of workshops will run from the end of May to the end of June. A number of the workshops are kindly co-funded by the Department of Agriculture under its equine schemes project. In addition, some of the workshops will have accompanying accreditation, equivalent to QQI qualification.
ITBA’s Summer Series of online workshops cover a wide range of relevant and practical based topics, including workplace practices, which takes in staff wellbeing. All workshops will run from 10.am - 1.pm and once again all fees have been waived. For those attending the selection of workshops being delivered by Equi-Ed, plans will be put in place to organise a breeders’ trip to its facilities at Ballybaun Stud in Co. Wexford, where retraining and re-education of retired racehorses takes place.
Commenting on the Summer Series Kerry Ryan said “ITBA has teamed up with both Equi- Ed and Equuip, (Horse Racing Ireland careers and educational division) to further enhance our educational offerings. Each year ITBA’s Educational Programme is created with breeders’ needs; be they established or immerging, at the very core of the planning process. While maintaining proven methods of breeding, it is important all breeders look to adopt modern methods also. Lifelong learning is something ITBA continues to champion as this helps Irish breeders stay at the top level of thoroughbred production.
Also commenting HRI’s Elaine Burke said “‘Equuip, Horse Racing Ireland’s education and training department are really looking forward to working with the ITBA through their series of educational workshops in 2022. These workshops will cover industry topics such as health, safety and wellbeing along with discussions on training, careers and pathways.
Registration is now open for ITBA Summer Series. As spaces are limited, early registration is encouraged. To register for any of these workshops simply email Kerry Ryan to kryan@itba.ie
