ITBA EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME 2022 LAUNCH

Following recent confirmation of the Department of Agriculture’s pledge of financial support of ITBA Educational Programme 2022, we are pleased to announce details of this year’s suite of educational offerings, which will run from May to December. Under the four pillars of our educational programme; namely Ask The Experts, Summer Series, Preparation Series and Autumn /Winter Series, ITBA will work with industry experts as well as industry stakeholders to deliver a wide and diverse programme of topics.

Topics include; Benefits of the Weatherbys E-Passport (New equine digital lifetime document), Educational Supports and Pathways, Equine Anatomy & Physiology, Equine Biosecurity, Equine Colic and Gut Health, Equine First Aid, Health & Safety, Parasite Control, Stud Farm Biosecurity, Use of Probiotics in Equines, Foal Sales Preparation, Yearling Sales Preparation, Breeding Season Preparation as well as a number of relevant and timely veterinary workshops. This year ITBA has teamed up with HRI’s Equuip and Weatherbys to further enhance its programme of educational offerings.

Where possible, workshops will be either QQI or Veterinary Council of Ireland accredited. While elements of this year’s programme will take place virtually, other elements will take place in person at ITBA HQ. Consideration may also be given to rolling out a number of workshops regionally.

We are looking forward to teaming up with the Irish Equine Centre and Equi Ed. once again. In addition, we are also delighted to be collaborating with Weatherbys to highlight and promote the new digital passport system as well as HRI’s Equuip to cover a number of key industry topics.

Commenting on this collaboration, Weatherbys’ Sharon O’Regan said “We are delighted to be working with the ITBA throughout 2022 on a range of industry topics including highlighting the benefits of the Weatherbys ePassport; the new equine digital lifetime document for vaccinations, movement and ownership update. Also commenting HRI’s Elaine Burke said “‘Equuip, Horse Racing Ireland’s education and training department are really looking forward to working with the ITBA through their series of educational workshops in 2022. These workshops will cover industry topics such as health, safety and wellbeing along with discussions on training, careers and pathways.

Registration is now open for the Ask The Expert series of workshops taking place in May. To express your interest in attending any of these workshops simply email Kerry Ryan to kryan@itba.ie
